Dr. Tricia Berry is the Associate Dean and Director of Clinical and Practicum Programs for Purdue University Global. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a Specialization in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning from Kaplan University, and Bachelors’ degrees in both Occupational Therapy and Psychology from St. Ambrose University. She became a Registered Occupational Therapist in 1992 and has practiced in a variety of clinical settings since that time. She currently oversees all clinical and practicum placement processes for Purdue University Global’s online programs in Health Sciences, Nursing, and Psychology, and oversees the University’s online Medical Assisting Program.
Dr. Berry is a member the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, the International Leadership Association, the Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education, the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education, the American Association of Medical Assistants, and both the National and Iowa Distance Learning Associations. She currently serves on the Board of the Iowa Distance Learning Association. In addition, she is the conference co-chair for the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education’s Commission for Distance Learning Conference.
In 2018, Dr. Berry was awarded the President’s Award from the Association of Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education. In 2017, she received the Director’s Award from the Commission for Distance Learning. She also received the Kaplan University School of Health Sciences faculty presentation award in 2017. In 2015, the team that Dr. Berry oversees was awarded the Spirit of Kaplan award as recognition of their contributions to Kaplan University (now Purdue University Global).
