Jeffrey Batiste is a Senior Manager with Verizon’s Learning and Development team. He is responsible for building and maintaining network technology training labs. These labs provide an immersive student experience with the goal of knowledge attainment through activity based learning.
Verizon has provided Jeffrey with the unique opportunity to manage two separate corporation and educational institution collaborations. These programs have provided an unparalleled look into the inner works of corporate/education partnerships.
The first partnership was with thirty northeast community colleges to provide a telecommunication focused curriculum for Verizon employees. These employees were paid as part of their weekly work tour to attend classes to earn an associate degree. This was a fruitful program that lasted twenty years and graduated over 3,000 students.
The second program is the NACTEL collaboration with four major telecommunication companies, two national unions and Pace University. This 501(c)(3) offers online courses, certificates and degrees developed by the industry, for the industry. This program turns twenty years old in 2019. Jeffrey holds the position of Board Secretary/Treasurer.
Jeffrey began his career with Bell Atlantic in 1995 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility in network operations and training.
